Have you made sure that you mod loads after any other mod that adds and/or changes a recipe?
If not, then it could be that your mod changes the recipe, but then another mod changes it once again so that the changes of your mod don't appear anymore.

The save is already overwritten (and I highly doubt that it had something to do with that particular save), but I attached a screenshot of my modlist (they're all enabled).

Well, I uninstalled the Steam Version, uninstalled the old version (because it behaved strange after that) and reinstalling the old version (i.e. 0.12.20), I could load the save again and play the gamge without any problems. So the probably seems to have something to to with any of the changes made ...

And I tried starting it again, this time it crashed at the loading screen of the game.

So no Steam Version for me for now.

So after the game prompted me that there is a new version, and updating failed (probably my PCs fault), I installed the Game from Steam. I started the game, mods and all still loaded. Well, 10 is the amount that turrets normally get when filled by an inserter.
So this mod somehow seems to use that value.

In conclusion, you would have to adjust that value or make this mod use a different value.

Ah yeah, that's what I meant with "and you have both smart inserters and the smart chest in the same circuit", because with your setup in the screenshot, you had 2 seperate circuits there.

Could you post some screenshots so we could see what you actually did? Maybe there is comething wrong with the wiring.
Or maybe my understanding of the logic circuits is wrong, but what I did worked till now ^^

Actually, you're not... at least as far as I understand you. What your configuration does is activate the smart inserters when there is less than 100 copper plates in the smart chest. Tested it again, removing all mods.

Worked as you said it would.

Tested it again, all mods active.

It worked as well.

But I just recently started new and removed some mods... so one of those mods must have screwed around with this previously.

The second idea seems to be the better way.

Many mods add new bots that are often more than fast enough to keep up the the vehicles. So it would be a shame if they couldn't repair them anymore.
