This would be very helpful. Maybe holding down middle click or side clicking would craft the item if you don't have any left.

Steel Mining Drill
An upgraded Mining Drill that mines 2x as fast as the Electric Mining Drill and you can filter what it mines. It also has a circuit network condition like the one in a smart inserter.

You can't run out of oil, there's an infinite supply in each oil field. Put speed modules in your pumps and surround them with beacons for more output. You can also put efficiency modules in your refinery and chemical plants. I think I failed to say that I need a better supply of oil than (almost) ...

I've pumped all the oil out around my base and there aren't any patches nearby. Is there a way to generate unloaded "chunks" so they have more oil?
