Re: Balancing of Existing Weapons

I would like to have the flamethrower more powerful. Right now the shotgun is the most powerful weapon against trees, but shouldn't it be the flamethrower. I would love to burn forests down with the flamethrower. Then I would like to have a reason to have several weapons around. I would like to have...

Re: Supression of the size shift of electric furnaces

I disagree with you. The electric furnace is not really an upgrade to the steel furnace. It has the exact same energy consumption and production speed as the steel furnace, except that it gets it's energy from power lines instead of directly from coal. So if you already setup your coal supply to the...

Re: Why are electric furnaces so expensive?

I don't use electric furnaces at all. Not that they are more expensive that normal furnaces, they also are much bigger. And when I finally am able to build electric furnaces, I have already my smelting line setup with coal supply. So "upgrading" to electric doesn't make sense to me. And I ...

I like the idea. I would also like to have Alien's that are just too strong to fight. Friendly in the beginning, when you attack you will regret it very soon.

Re: Wall-related suggestions

As I already mentioned in my suggestions. I am not happy with the inventory management at all. It feel's poorly engeneered and with all this stacking/non-stacking hassle it's just a pain in the ass like the minecraft inventory. For me the problem is in the inventory, not the walls.

Re: Q and E Keys (mapping)

The currently binding doesn't work for example on MacBook. There is not a real right mouse button on it (and the emulation isn't handled in Factorio, or I'm too stupid to get that managed). A list (4-6) of default key bindings for different keyboards, OS etc. would be my wish. For different keyboar...

Re: Coal Furnace Energy Consumption

k = 1000
W = J/s
M = 1000000

8MJ / 180 kW = (8000000*J*s) / (180000 J) = 400/9*s = 44.44s

that's the time one coal lasts in a furnance.

Better Savegame management. (Already lost a 50h savegame)

At the moment, the savegames are really classical. I can save and override every savegame. And that is what happened to me. I played the freeplay for 50h and after that I played the campagne and accidently override my savegame from the freeplay. It was a real bummer, because I already played for mor...

Re: New Locomotives and Wagons, More Trains.

I don't need a solar powered wagon, but I like the idea of electric wagons, so that I can use (external) solar energy. There is so much more you can do with wagon's.

My suggestion: Artillery wagon. Something like Schwerer Gustav.

Re: Some thoughts about light in general

First of all. Light is the most complicated and complex thing you can simulate. You can invest hundreds of hours into this topic. I am a developer myself and I know how much work it is. At the moment light is pretty simple. There is one lightmap where all light sources are added and then at night, t...

What does pollution do if you can just wipe out the aliens?

I just finished playing the game and build the awesome missile defense :? . And I have to say I just felt to be the evil one in that game. You know I am the one who is the guest on the alien Planet, but all I did was stealing their resources and polluting their environment. And as soon as the aliens...

end game statistics too big to click on "ok"

when I finished the game yesterday. I had the statistics that told me how much of everything I killed including all different types of trees. That resulted in a very long list that was just too big for one window and I was not able anymore to see the buttons on the bottom. When I tried to resize the...

Re: integrating the "alt-mode" into the default graphics

Underground conveyors must be moused over to see where they lead. No, they are always straight under ground and the next exit of belts is always matching. No mouse over needed. The mouse over just helps to understand that. Just google for Gestalt law of clusure. Chests, and train engines/cars don't...

integrating the "alt-mode" into the default graphics

As I've already heared. The game is intended that you can see what is going on. That is one reason why you can't build curves under the ground, and I like it. But I don't see a reason why I should not see what a factory is intended to produce. Why not adding a permanent sign to the factory that show...

Re: Fight

What I can say is that I don't like the current fight system. i don't want to build a factory and put tons of metal into one piece of equipment just to make it endgame. This just doesn't feel appropriate. I would like to build something with my factory that is truly big. The game is about automatisa...

Re: RTS direction

I do remember Total Annihilation. And yes I would absolutely love to see a development in that direction. The current end Game plays a lot like Alien Shooter. . It's not that I don't like Alien Shooter but I also don't think it is appropriate to the genre. I would love to see an super sized railway ...
