Re: Warefare mod ideas.

Are you planning on adding ammunition drums for turrets (as opposed to the same clips handguns and SMGs use) as well?

Re: Reducing impact of ontick event scripts

I haven't come up with anything better than that myself. I use a simple gametick % 5 check in the ontick event in Slipstream, but maybe you could do something with loading and unloading event subscriptions...?

Re: Modifying ammo count

That's not quite what I meant. You can stack up ammo items, yes, but the stack also keeps track of how many rounds are left before it should remove one of the ammo items. It's that count that I want to access.

Modifying ammo count

Is there a method to access the remaining count of ammo in an itemstack, and modify it?

i have made some new gears, because the old looks not very pretty, but it's the pov from the viewer - maybe you want use these (fixes the unrealistic vanilla too - i think) http://johnsmith.ktec.de/factorio/mods/support/bob/gears/gear-1.png http://johnsmith.ktec.de/factorio/mods/support/bob/gears/g...

Clearly you've never played Dwarf Fortress.

The wiki is your friend, in this game. Even when half of it is probably out of date.

Re: [0.11.x](0.5.0)[WIP] Record Your Stuff!

I can think of a couple of things you could do. Truncate that number, for starters. I'm sure two decimal places will be sufficient. Another thing would be to allow separate counters, rather than having a single readout for every pollution reader in the world, so you can monitor the dirtiness of sepa...

Re: Builds with Bob's

The issue I've always had with bobores is the inappropriately massive deposits of gold and tin. And little bits of galena or quartz scattered around the place...maybe it's just a function of having so many ores in the first place, but it feels like deposit placement is pretty messy. Thinking about i...

Check the first post for the MCI mod here in Bob's forum, it has all the info on the different types and tiers of pipe (since that's where they all were originally).

Re: Warefare mod ideas.

So I did a bit of looking around and it's possible to make sulphur-less gunpowder (it has a higher ignition temperature, but this is hardly a problem for handguns and SMGs of the space age, I'm sure), using roughly one part charcoal and two parts potassium nitrate. Given you said you might be adding...

Nice arrangement there. I'll have to try that out. Plus the RSO config someone cooked up for Bob's mods. I'm really looking forward to that.

Re: Builds with Bob's

There are a couple of other uses you could put it to as product sinks. Combining it with water to convert coal into carbon, for instance, or with some wood product to manufacture biodiesel, perhaps.

Re: Warefare mod ideas.

Ah, so vanilla recipes still exist. Okay.

I feel like it's a bit of a disconnect, with this hyper detailed high-end ammo production laid on top of the basic ammunition, now. Is there some kind of basic gunpowder that could be added to their recipes to make them match up a little better?

Re: Builds with Bob's

When I get back to my desktop I'll post a picture of the research factory I've got going at the moment, which works, but I'm not terribly happy with. The tao of good factory design really eludes me.

Re: Builds with Bob's

At a guess, building everything you need to produce electronic circuit boards will roughly double the size of that factory. It's a pretty big step up from basic circuit boards. Speaking of basic circuit boards, good arrangement there. Do you find that the single wooden board assembler can keep up wi...

Re: Warefare mod ideas.

Just one question springs to mind at the moment: How exactly does one make ammo to defend themselves from attacks before they reach oil processing to obtain everything they need for cordite?

Re: Recipe overides mod ideas

At a guess, I would say that vanilla plastic is being produced from phenol obtained from both coal tar and petroleum gas. Probably a game balance thing as you say, since it could be produced from either of those sources alone. WRT laser turrets, I would prefer a supercapacitor rather than a battery ...

Making the cracking recipe yield an equivalent amount of hydrogen to produce the same amount of solid fuel makes sense to me, yeah.
