Re: [YouTube] Orbital Failure's Multiplayer Magnificence

It really is. We're going to work multiplayer back in because the series is a bit of a waste otherwise, but to lose a good chunk of play time each session was getting a bit old.

Re: [YouTube] Orbital Failure's Multiplayer Magnificence

Your sage advice is always welcome my friend, but don't hold out your hopes that I'll apply it when the time comes :)

Re: [YouTube] Orbital Failure's Multiplayer Magnificence

Well now, I've left you for some time in the pursuit of progress. So what have you missed? #21 : Plastic and oil #22 : Advanced circuits #23 : Batteries #24 : Inserter mass production #25 : Improved circuit production #26 : What happens when you switch the power off? #27 : Rebuilding your factory af...

Re: [YouTube] Orbital Failure's Multiplayer Magnificence

Having deleted all his childhood memories (a reference to the seminal Johnny Mnemonic there) Orbital Potato once again had disk space enough to allow for some further episodic recording. That's the good news. The bad news, at least for him, is that I've given him the task of making oil production lo...

Re: [YouTube] FishSandwich's Factorio playthroughs

Very much enjoying the ribbon series. Have you tried it even narrower? Is there a minimum height you can set after which it becomes impossible to operate? (I could just try it for myself to find out - just curious)

Re: [YouTube] Orbital Failure's Multiplayer Magnificence

Hot on the heels of my previous episode is my next. For reasons as innocuous as Orbital Potato's lack of disk space we have switched out of sequence, so you have the pleasure of once again hitting up Failureville for your next installment. What rare treats are in store? Nothing less than the beginni...

Re: [YouTube] Orbital Failure's Multiplayer Magnificence

It gets worse, and will continue to do so until blue flasks are being made at which point a hammer will be taken to the oil and primary resource systems to make them purr. That, however is still to come. First up today is Episode 16 : Potato gets covered in oil and we introduce a new member of the t...

Re: [YouTube] Orbital Failure's Multiplayer Magnificence

Never take hard feelings, life is far too short for that :) On a related note, time waits for no man and there are two fresh episodes for you to digest collectively. In Episode 12.... "wait for it" we finally touchdown with 50 labs online and functioning. This is the cause of great celebra...

Re: [YouTube] Orbital Failure's Multiplayer Magnificence

Oh so that's how we're rolling is it? The no resources left includes both boxes and belts and is in progress, but it depends entirely on modernising the rest of the factory so will take a while before it is even remotely accomplished. I'm using the buffer chests at the mines right now for burst outp...

Re: [YouTube] Orbital Failure's Multiplayer Magnificence

I've asked repeatedly and you've told me repeatedly but for some reason when the time comes it flies straight out of my head. I'm going to write it in big letters ahead of the next recording (we've got 6 episodes queued up so expect more manual labour before then) and use it extensively while praisi...

Re: [YouTube] Orbital Failure's Multiplayer Magnificence

Finally! We're able to up the tempo of this play through a little with a few episodes queued up over the next couple of days. Bear witness to my veiled references to denizens of this very forum when casually questioned about correct ratios of steam engines to boilers! Thrill at the inevitable recons...

Re: [YouTube] Orbital Failure's Multiplayer Magnificence

Quite quite true :) Anyway, back again with another clutch of episodes for your perusal. First up is Episode 10 : Taking a really long time to set up half a dozen electric furnaces courtesy of Orbital Potato, and we're making progress towards our resource throughput goals. Okay, we're making some pr...

Re: [YouTube] Orbital Failure's Multiplayer Magnificence

Liking the critique.... I've had oil stop being produced all the time. Typically a few will continue running to replace what's been used, while the rest go on standby. I thought that might be the case but have never observed it - all I had noticed was that oil production would drop off far quicker t...

Re: [YouTube] Orbital Failure's Multiplayer Magnificence

Right, you've had time off now let's get back to work. What have you missed? Right, well first there was the second of Orbital Potato's errant videos that went missing and frankly I'm not sure that ever really existed, so let's move on to what has shown up rather than what hasn't. In Episode 7 we go...

I love the sound of the new endgame. LOVE IT.

Re: buying alpha and full release seperate?

Even if you had to pay twice (once for alpha, once for final) it would be worth the money. There are very few games that you can sink 100+ hours into and still feel like you'd barely scratched the surface of what's possible.

But you don't, no.

Re: [YouTube] Orbital Failure's Multiplayer Magnificence

So, at about this time you would normally expect me to be promoting the latest multiplayer exploits from the perspective of Orbital Potato, however due to internet witchcraft his next two episodes have been swallowed by the dark gods with no chance of reprieve. This, sadly, means that the artist for...

Re: Ideas about the "End Game"

Having completed the game only once I found the current ending a little simplistic. Thought 1 The idea of preparing the planet for colonisation is fine, but rather than the marvellously expensive rocket defense I'd be interested in having to build a bigger set of facilities to set the place up. A co...
