I skimmed a bit, there will probably be some balancing issues, but the ideas themselves are cool and fresh!

Re: Steel
As someone in electrical engineering, and since we're assuming the accumulators are capacitors: y'all need to read this: http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/electric/capeng2.html The accumulators are highly idealised and stylised in the game, with E(in) equal to E(stored), so while that is v...

Re: [0.8.8] Production stats way off
The thing is, those values (I think it applies to power as well) are not exact values but average. Try to look at the amount of power consumed by your lamps, at the exact moment when they turn off (and you now use precisely 0 energy) You'll get what I mean. I already thought it was an average. It's...

Re: [0.8.8] Production stats way off
I've noticed the same: http://i.imgur.com/GJhJ2rB.png The production stats probably aren't constant enough to accurately measure, but the consumption rate of iron and copper ore can be called somewhat constant over the last 10 minutes. The total consumed and the consumption=rate*10 don't match up. B...

Re: Rail signals
I think the main problem is your signalling. The block signals work so that only one train can be in a "block" between signals at the same time. By making adding blocks to the network, more trains can be moving on it at the same time. The easiest thing you can do is place another signal be...

Re: HUGE feature brainstorm for Logic circuits, Sensors, ...
I don't want to seem like I am attacking anyone or 'pushing' at people. But when someone tries to prioritize one feature over another simply because they would not use the feature which currently sits on priority it makes me shake my head. Fact of the matter is that multiplayer is something that 1....

Re: HUGE feature brainstorm for Logic circuits, Sensors, ...
Don't you think the typical-casual-random-player would be overwhelmed by these complex items? (as a person that has normally nothing to do with electronic logic). In the multiplayer mentioned, if it is player vs player, i think you won't have the time for playing with such toys, because you will ne...

Re: HUGE feature brainstorm for Logic circuits, Sensors, ...
Yes! The current system with red and green wires is already quite cool, but it is really big and complex when trying to do anything beyond what it's meant for.

Re: Bootstrapping with wind power
It certainly sounds cool to me :D . However, it is (semi-)random difficulty not every player wants to be bothered with. So if it's implemented, it should be an option to set at the start of a game for freeplay, and maybe a feature of (some) campaign maps(where it might be integrated to the difficult...

No problem, I had the same problem when I first played. And I think a lot of other players have had the same problem.
It also took me a while to find out you can smelt rock to make stone blocks.

Re: steel bar??
You can't craft steel yourself, you have to smelt iron plates to create steel. Just like you have to smelt iron ore to create iron.

Re: Steel
My guess is that he's referring to hydrogen fuel cells. Electrolyse water into oxygen and hydrogen, then store the hydrogen and use it as fuel in the fuel cells when it's needed. Gameplay wise it might be a cool higher tech version of the accumulators, the accumulators would need to have a nerfed ef...

Am I doing this right? http://i.imgur.com/LCofVxI.png I've recently increased my iron ore output, so the input to these smelters are a bit clogged. Still deciding wether I really need to add more smelters. The answer is probably yes, because I can. Here's my production screen(Iron has been my focus ...

Another video, and my mind is blown. I actually can't decide if I believe this is true: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-I6XTVZXww If it's true, it's possibly the least intuitive mathematical concept I know. Meanwhile, my brain is trying to think where a mistake has been made, but I can't see it. Wh...

I currently don't have the time to test it, but could you maybe post some screenshots of the scenario? They also work very good to convince people to try out your map

Re: Steel
You need carbon for steel? I though you have to remove the carbon from the iron to make steel. o_O Well, maybe there's other methods in the future. But in modern steel production, the carbon from the cokes is burnt: 2 C + O2= 2 CO. Then because of the heat and the CO, the Iron oxide reacts: Fe2O3 +...
