The new blue research is trivial compared to old one.
Being able to request stuff into chests is a majort gamechanger, similar to the level of getting trains or construction robots. I think having it behind a difficult research is justified.

I don't really think older balance was any more interesting. 99% of the time, I just had 14 boilers + 10 engines in a blueprint I'd spam as needed. Changing it to 1:2 didn't make it any less boring imho.

Why not just buy a bunch of game keys from the site (on steam, steam would take a big cut)?

Not sure if relevant but steam consumed in steam engines is also not shown either in production or consumption.

You can only see "normally" in the areas that are revealed by either player or radars. Other parts look like as map used to look in last version
