Re: 0.10.0 crashes more?
Hey, I'm not complaining. Just wanted to check if I was seeing something others were so I would know to put in a bug report or not.

Re: 0.10.0 crashes more?
Oh? Ok, guess if this is a something known, then there's already something in one of the bug threads. Thanks.

0.10.0 crashes more?
So, the new 0.10.0 update seems to crash fairly often for me. Sometimes during an auto-save, sometimes when I'm click-dragging to place things such as power poles or walls. Anyone else noticing an increase in crashes? Or is it just me and I shouldn't bother putting it in the bug forum.

Re: [0.10.0] new save failed after crash
I encountered something similar at one time. I had a crash during an auto-save, and when I restarted the auto-save had been corrupted and couldn't be read.

Re: [0.10.0] Turrets with ammo stop firing at biters
I've seen this a bit. More with newly placed turrets (in a new 0.10.0 game). If I'm going after a small biter nest, when I place a gun turret and biter/worms are near enough for it to target, it swivels, but then after I put in ammo it doesn't fire until what it is targeting is dead. Then the next t...

Re: Extremely slow on Alpha download, fast demo
We are considering to build our own solution. Basically rent a server in US and Europe for fixed price with fixed bandwith to cope with most of the downloads. Use s3 as a fallback when there is some peak. Linode has been good to me, 3TB transfer on their lowest end VPS per month. In US, London, Tok...

Re: Friday Facts #37
Awesome!
Hmm...is there a specific CHANGELOG posted anywhere? Besides just the roadmap thread, which is somewhat general. This is my first update since I bought into the alpha, so I don't know the usual. But I do like to see tickets/enhancements/etc in some sort of simple list.

Re: Better/more efficient power production?
After a couple of starts, I personally don't find electricity to take all that long to get started. 15-20 minutes tops, often a good bit less. Although I suppose a small generator (integrated boiler, effectively) directly utilizing water & fuel could be a quick way to start using electricity wit...

Re: Better/more efficient power production?
Hehe, jorgenRe, that was my part. ;) no seriously: I'm glad that my guides begin to work.:) @Drizzt311: the boilers already take solid oil, it has much more energy. https://forums.factorio.com/wiki/index.php?title=Fuel And cube made some investigations about steam engines end of last year, I think ...

Re: Better/more efficient power production?
Ok, yes, I didn't use the search.
What about the thought of higher pressure (e.g. Mk2) steam engines to get more power out of the same footprint? Might need more boilers to get the temp up, perhaps.

Better/more efficient power production?
So, with there being only 2 power production types (solar & steam plant), I propose either a higher efficiency steam plant (e.g. using higher pressure, higher temperature water). Maybe have oil/petroleum based boilers that can burn hotter? As for late game, obviously you don't have uranium at th...

How little hardware is needed to play Factorio
It's surprising how little hardware you need to play Factorio! For kicks & giggles I decided to install the 32-bit on my Lenovo Thinkpad Table 2 . It's an Atom Z2760 (Clovertrail), 2C4T 1.8GHz turbo (1.5GHz nominal) with PowerVR SGX 545 GPU and 2GB of memory running Windows 8. I can actually wal...

Re: Extremely slow on Alpha download, fast demo
I'm still getting this, on Verizon FiOS in LA. However, I performed a work-around which is to download it via my VPS (located in Texas) using my cookies, then downloading it to my home computer from there. Quite a PITA, but got it down from hours to minutes.
