Re: Advanced Ore Processing
We already have a modest ore scaling system. It's called productivity modules but whether they are worth the energy/resources is a debatable question. I personally think they are worth it. I do think there is room for ore processing. In real life one of the things that ore processing like ore flotat...

Re: The Hydra Dilemma - A Coop Factorio Playthrough!
-root it isn't you. Those module recipes are non-standard. I run 0.10.9 and my module recipes match those on the wiki. There has been some episodes where The Hydra Dilemma was loaded with mods enabled. I wonder if they could have caused lasting recipe changes.

Re: expansion station
Walls have 350 HP each while solar panels have only 100 while being 3 times as wide so don't be surprised if you lose some. I suppose the best way to find if it's a good idea for you is to try it.

Re: expansion station
My understanding of biter behavior is that solar panels are not any different from walls. Namely that if they block a biter from getting to a target then they will attack it. Biters prioritize turrets but they won't come from a distance to attack them. This setup doesn't produce any pollution but th...

Re: Tips & Tricks
When copying a smart inserter's settings it will automatically wire up the inserter you paste to as long as the pole the first inserter was wired up to is in reach. This makes backup generators much easier to setup. http://giant.gfycat.com/SlushyFailingFunnelweaverspider.gif Copy/link this image as ...

Re: [0.10.8] V-sync doesn't work / excessive framerate
At first I was going to say that this didn't happen to me since the in game display never goes above 60-60.1 fps but then I realized I needed a second opinion which is probably a little more difficult on linux. I used mumble to make a fps overlay in the game (worked well but felt like hitting a nail...

Re: [0.10.9] Deconstructing inserter holding item deletes it
I can confirm this one. Mining the inserter puts the item being held into your inventory but having robots deconstruct it causes the item to disappear from the game. I think the best way to fix it would be to disable the inserter (to prevent the inserter from grabbing another item which then has to ...

[0.10.9] pause game key binding reset when starting factorio
I've noticed my pause game key binding keeps getting reset to the default (SHIFT + space) when Factorio is reloaded. I'm running Linux x64 with a US style qwerty keyboard.. I didn't notice this behavior before 0.10.9. Steps to reproduce: 1. Start Factorio, go to the controls menu and bind pause game...

Re: The Hydra Dilemma - A Coop Factorio Playthrough!
I know it's an old issue but can someone tell me why a complete switch was made from coal to solid fuel. With the amount of coal in the base there's no reason coal couldn't completely support steam generators for many hours. For the amounts of oil on the map I would have just made more tanks to stor...

Re: Very slow on linux 64
The proprietary nvidia drivers perform a lot better than the open source ones at this time. A quick way to see if you have the proprietary driver loaded is to run nvidia-settings. If the nvidia driver isn't loaded it will show very few options to set and I think it pops up a message too. You have an...

Re: shift + right click = 1/2 craft all ..
I would certainly use this feature as I often find my self right clicking to craft a lot since I don't often want to use up all of the resources I'm carrying in case I need to craft something else.

Re: Preferred combat style
The combat shotgun is effective at destroying spawners, especially if you have piercing shells and sufficiently fast power armor. The key is to never stop running around and make passes of the spawners destroying a number of spawners in a single pass. You can destroy very large nests this way but yo...

Re: The Hydra Dilemma - A Coop Factorio Playthrough!
I enjoy this series. If Fishsandwitch wants payback for the pranks -root has pulled on him perhaps he should try to convince FKODgaming to do something. Afterall more pranks would probably make the series more entertaining assuming it isn't something repetitive like leaving pockets full of pebbles e...

Re: [0.10.6 Win x64] Crash when driving trains in reverse
I can confirm this one on linux x64. I get a segmentation fault when the locomotive I'm driving gets destroyed by backing up into the end of the track with a locomotive or cargo wagon behind me. Interestingly if you have 2 cargo wagons behind the locomotive you won't get the segfault when the cargo ...

Re: [0.10.5]Crash when running during mouse is over an objec
I've been having random segfaults on 10.5 but the description matches what happened last time. Namely I kept my mouse over a biter nest I was temporarialy running away from over on the right side of the screen. I run the linux x64 version. Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. [Switch...
