Very nice design, I am worried about the efficiency of having all this brute production force powering 1 red, 1 green and 2 blue assemblers though, you should be able to power quite a bit more I recon.

The ratio is 14 boilers in chain to 10 steam engines. You shouldn't get any fluctuations if you fuel them constantly

Yeah, same in my experience. Also, with the buffer in place, and overproduction of iron plates, this won't be a problem anyway.

In the latest vid (3) you say that 16 steel furnaces will fill a yellow transport belt. 16 steel furnaces have a capacity of 32 items/second, divided by the production time of an iron plate is 32/3.5=9.14 items/second. According to this page a yellow transport belt has a throughput of about 12 items...

I don't believe killing biters raises evolution levels. It does make place for new biters to spawn though, so if you kill a biter base filled with small biters and the evolution factor is high, medium or big biters might take their place.

Great post! Very nice builds you have there, I have one point of criticism though, your red:green ratio is asymmetric, the red packs cost 5 seconds to build each, and the green packs cost 6 seconds. If you have enough labs to drain the production of these setups, your bottleneck will be green science.

5 reds, 6 greens, 12 blues and 1 suped up purple science assemblers is the ratio to produce an even amount of science per type. Do have all of the same level assemblers though.

My opinion is, Fraps turns off the Turbo-Boost to prevent damage on video files, so the systems slows down. I need to watch the fixit still but. I took a look at his train system myself.
