Its funny I've been thinking exactly the same thing. In fact because of this I don't think we need an "End" Game so much as just more new and different mechanics and an even more robust api so that we can make factorio what we want to play.

Try setting a requester chest requesting a ton of stuff and restrict it to one stack (or no stack if that possible).

I came across a bug report today that implied this would do what you want :)

Maybe make it possible to make boxes out of various materials? For example - have a recipe for a steel box and a recipe for plastic box, both resulting in the same item, but giving the player a choice of which packing material they want to use... This probably only makes sense if the box is destroy...

Just off the top of my head, I think part of the problem could be solved by playing around with target priorities and large biters. If large biters took lasers a while to kill and laser focused on large biters first then you would need a mix of turrets to stay safe.

this is dead mod ... person who was maintaining it did a full rebuild which can be found here : https://forums.factorio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=8189 As for automatically cutting down trees and putting them into the wagon ... I believe the new mod allows you to turn it off but I'm not sure...
