Self-Created Mod Not Showing Up in the in-game mod list?
So I'm attempting to create a simple mod that adds in charcoal and coal coke as alternative fuel sources, but the bare-bones isn't showing in the in-game mod list. I'm currently using version 0.11.14. My prototype folder, control.lua, and data.lua are all empty. I'm following this tutorial. EDIT: Ne...

So I found this snippet of code in [Factorio Folder Here]\data\base\prototypes\entity.lua { type = "rail", name = "straight-rail", icon = "__base__/graphics/icons/straight-rail.png", flags = {"placeable-neutral", "player-creation", "building-dir...

Re: [Request]Multi-Layered Assembly Machines
I like this. Less space for crafting an item, but this might need to be significantly more expensive. Perhaps use multiple Assembly Machines in the making of a multi-assembly machine?

This is simply an inserter that can out put to the left and right of it, along with the usual In front.

Logistic network priority
This is simply a suggestion for adding an editable priority for logistic networks. You input a number into 2 text boxes on a logistics chest, one for supplying items and one for storing items, and it will be placed in a list. Anything with the same number will be visited the same number of times by ...

Then something that it changes, like a before/after pic.LoSboccacc wrote:Nah thanks. What pic would I add to my two mods?
They don't alter anything visible.
If it's visible, then maybe the GUI or the items it provides.

[Forum] A small "no pics, no clicks" rule to the mod section
On various forums that I frequent, there seems to be a general consensus for mods that pretty much says "no pics, no clicks." This forum apparently doesn't do that, even though we have entire subforums for mods that have no info threads or pictures/videos of them in action. This is especia...

When you buy the game, do you get unlimited downloads of it?
When you buy Factorio, are you able to download multiple copies, provided you use the same account to download them?
IIRC Kerbal Space Program did this, where if you buy the game, you can have unlimited copies of it, provided you use an account that bought it.

I've haven't had the time to get in my computer for the past few weeks, so I can't really test that.DerivePi wrote:How'd your setup do running the demo?
I usually get slow downs when I've uncovered an enormous amount of the map way late in the game.

Do multiple header trains make pulling rolling stock faster?
I haven't been able to play around with trains yet, but do multiple locomotives at the front of a train make it go faster with more cars?
This is because it would be more logical that more locomotives = more horsepower = more wagons pulled at max speed.

Re: What kind of computer do you need for Factorio?
I'm away from my main laptop right now, but AFAIK, here are some specs from the top of my head:
Windows 10 Preview 64-bit
Intel i5 (not sure how many cores, or clock speed)
16 GB RAM
Around 250 GB hard drive space

Re: Not Completely Flat Terrain
Perhaps the transport belts don't work on slopes. The items on the transport belts might only be sitting on the transport belt, and you need to use underground belts or some high-friction belt to get it up there.

Not Completely Flat Terrain
I was watching quite a few Factorio let's plays today, and I noticed that all of the terrain was completely flat. If there was more hilly terrain, I think that the difficulty can be increased from a change in map generation settings, for example a setting called "Hilliness" or similar. You...
