Re: Biggest Lane Rebalancer!
It is not possible to build a belt balancer that redistributes the materials of a blocked output without knowing which output is going to be blocked. It is, add a splitter to a loopback on each output. then if any output is blocked all items that would have gone there will go back and go through th...

Re: Biggest Lane Rebalancer!
(in terms of the dimensions , not tiles) So if I have a 4x5, will that give me a "score" of 4+5 or 4*5? In other words, will it be better to make belt balancers squared or stretched? and it has to work both ways, so when the right lane is full, it equally distributes to all of the lanes y...

Re: Jackie's Crazy Contraptions
The 32 is actually 2 16 belt balancers you probaly already know this but... If you look closely at EVERY balancer you'll see that it is first made up of 2-belt balancers aka a single splitter and then it ramps up to 4-belt balancer, 8 balancer, 16 balancer and so forth, Heres a 16-belt balancer to ...

[0.12.22] [Twinsen] CargoWagon input output inconsistency
Some train configurations allow you to have an inserter that inputs in a different cargowagon than it outputs, I have been able to replicate this, See pictures below. I have mods but no custom wagons or stations were used here. Station is placed on the fifth straight rail after the curved rail, used...

Re: Jackie's Crazy Contraptions
I like your 4 to 4 balancers, haven't seen that design yet. The 16 and 32 balancer look like they can be smaller but completing a 32 balancer is on its own a challenge so probs for finishing it!

Re: Friday Facts #122 - Better circuit network (Part 1)
That "Nonsense" is what I actually use to check how compressed a belt is, If all materials split perfectly then I know that my belt is "Fully compressed" But if you can change this behaviour without breaking splitter filtering then I'm fine with changing it.

Re: My Belt balancers
If you're using 3 belts you can always loop one output back to the input, but whatever you do, NEVER block an OUTPUT, this breaks balancers.

My Belt balancers
As some of you might know within factorio is an artform of splitter creations that can evenly divide multiple belts, Balancers! I'm no mathematician so there wont be any math involved here, smarter people than me can explain how this stuff works, I just want to show my creations. I'm going to be in...

Re: transport belt optimization and compression
Hmm, I would change it but alot of people that actually need 4+ belts of a single ore will most likely not care or even prefer underground belts as they do not require oil, But good spot!

Re: transport belt optimization and compression
@jackielope, Very nice post, The 8 belt balancer was based on madzuri's design but I was able to shave off a single vertical tile in mine and put the inputs/outputs one tile closer to each other. I'm hoping to come up with my own 16 belt balancer version soon. I already got a few but nothing I'm pro...

Re: transport belt optimization and compression
The first picture uses splitters to avoid corners but this is no longer needed in .12 The last two splitters on my design (Second picture) are not needed but it looks neater, However in the rest of my designs the splitters at the end DO matter. I guess I should remove all esthetic splitters to Avoid...

Re: transport belt optimization and compression
Yes, I think you are looking for Perfect 4-belt balancers, Balancers that will always output evenly no matter what comes in. Heres three perfect 4 belt balancers, The left has a footprint of 5x6, the middle has a footprint of 4x7 and the right is a 5x5 corner balancer(But will fit in an inline turn...

You can turn off smoke in the graphics settings, this will not help with forest lag but will improve framerate around steam engines and stone/steel furnaces.

Re: New Research window size error
A workaround would be to go to Options > Graphics, set the GUI scale to "Custom" and move the slider to a lower value than 125%.
this will resize the other GUI stuf as well so depending on your monitor this might not be an solution if it makes everything else too small.
