Re: 22 Billion Wall. Modular - Bucket brigade
I see you do the arrow thing I like I do on my wall BP's so you know your roboports are going the right way. :) However, I have been working on an "upgrade" using the wires using the variables R and L. Thus from one to set request form left or request from right. Another upgrade I just add...

Re: Train bandwidth Questions
First of all...i'm not claiming i'm an expert. I've done enough math though (2 particular posts on reddit), coupled with actual game play, to feel pretty comfortable in my opinions though One thing I've learned about trains in this game, which i'm 100% confident in, is that a real base (e.g. not cus...

Re: End-game Integrated Green+Red build
Really nice...thanks!
You can also put another one next to it thus sharing beacons! You need about 6 of these for 1RPM so the beacon sharing would become pretty nice. Your power wiring also allows for switches to be able to shut off "banks" of them when idle.

Add Electric Miner to Circuit Netowrk
In the goal of "automate everything", being able to link a bunch of miners together in the circuit network to know how much ore is there would be VERY helpful. I could use that any number of ways to somehow tell me "you are running low out here" other than driving out to every ou...

Re: Train Gate Sensing : Bug or Working As intended
Thanks. I would like to have a "gate state" variable I guess.
To the typical person..this behavior is "not obvious" with any of the indicted information on the tool tips or displayed information.

Train Gate Sensing : Bug or Working As intended
If I stand on a train gate (with walls on the side), the gate lights turn on (e.g. green) and the logic turns my lamp on. If I do not stand on the train gate (with walls on the side), the gate lights turns off (e.g. red) and the logic turns my lamp off. These both make 100% to me However, If I do th...

Re: Who knew you'd need THIS much...
The optimal ratio for green is 3:2. However, in reality, the amount of area saved, power saved, resources saved isn't that much compared to 1:1. So, IMO, do what floats your boat. I'm not a fan of "green circuits" though, one of those things always lands up being a "limiter" comp...

I thought the corner issue was one of the "better quirks" of Factorio peronsally. It didn't make much of a difference to the average player but was a reasonable issue to deal with on super efficient designs.

Re: Dear Youtubers - Modded Gameplay Screens
If you look at Minecraft, it is the same way. There is a very large modding community but the biggest players tend to shy away from them unless they are really complete and well done. Even more so...I can't even find good tutorials on minecraft mods. The spotlights are shoddy at best in many cases. ...

I don't quite get what those three points are needed for. logistic trash area in player's inventory - get rid of things you don't need by sending them to the logistic system Place an active provider chest, put stuff inside, pick it up after empty. personal construction robots - speedup of later gam...

Could you upload a blueprint or a zip of the map before you started playing on it? Seems like it would be a lot of fun for others.

Is there a way to reset the radar? Would like to release a save that I think players might appreciate.

I used nearly a dozen BMD's to get going. It really speeds up the game especialy when back to back mining coal.gepwin wrote:The Burner Mining Drill. I build maybe 3 of the things before I get to electricity then they sit in storage forever.
Usually 6 on coal, 4 on iron, 2 on copper...and 1 on stone.

Re: A good starting base, full scalability
Thanks for sharing this....it is a good topic. Not trying to steal your thunder; just add to it. 1. I agree with having a main bus for key items. For a first play through, a single copper and single iron bus are fine. Just don't go crazy. I would limit main bus to iron, copper, green circuit, steel,...

Re: Factorio Speedrun in 4:44 (EDIT: Video's are up!)
This is totally incredible. Watched the replay ... Wow. However, if I may criticize, peaceful mode does help a lot. When you care neither the defenses, nor the pollution, you can go really faster. But I don't deny it, even in peaceful, I'd be unable to such an achievement. A speed run is a speed ru...

Re: Railroad Fetch Trick
Want to necro this. With the new changes to trains this becomes much more viable now since the train remembers the stations it was using. Thus, you can move the station to wherever you are and there the train goes. When finished the supply train goes home and waits until the next time you place the ...

Re: Choose the number of items inserted by inserter
I think that is overly complicated. I look at it like this. when you go to the grocery store to buy milk for a "large family" you buy lets say can reasonably store 4 gallons. But lets say some weeks you use 2 gallons and some weeks you need 4. Do you wait until you are out of milk because ...

This game is not good for people with addictive personalities....it is even worse if you have a touch of OCD.
