Re: Factorio Speedrun 9 hours 57 minutes

there is no much content at this time, but much grinding due lack of advanced devices.

energy generation is great sample of grindy nature of current gameplay.

any way to alter worldgeneration surface?

I want to generate map with predefined (not random) shape - fractal based plots.

I found how to alter spawned objects, but not how to define water\ground distribution or placing object on predefined coordinates.

I missed something or this is not possible at current stage?

Re: Friday Facts #39

fallout 3 is obvilion with guns, everyone noticed that. as for engine - framework especially designed for specific task will handle that task better then engine designed for everything at once, like unity. as for upgradable walls - just adding few tiers for everything is good move that require low a...

Re: Pirating Factorio

i just suggest factorio to follow minecraft path in terms of piracy - online services that require legit version and wont work on pirated version.

legit users wont ever notice difference if implemented properly.

Re: Version 0.8.0

ever tiers similar to assembly plants and furnaces will be good, currently some parts of game provide no chance of progression, but others provide exceptionally long chains with new stuff every step.

Re: Version 0.8.0

now we have crysis armor (with portable fusion reactors), advanced AI robots, pollution and mostly magical upgrade dispenser but still rely on good old steam boiler as only source of energy (solars and accumulators too weak compared to boiler), game development looks "imbalanced".

if extreme amounts of IO operations needed, ramdrive + APS + backup SSD, it cost much, but provide RAM level performance and wont degrade over time.

only way to get punished - recieve warning and ignore it multiple times, it's unlikely that anyone will fill copyright claim for single icon.
