Re: Friday Facts #260 - New fluid system
At this point, it has thus become easier to just demonstrate that there is no problem with sudden changes in supply/demand. I present to you a simple simulation of a straight length of pipe (I had no time to implement junctions). https://jsfiddle.net/TheYeast/ypwsbftg/ This is sweet! As you...

Oh happy joy!posila wrote: I know, but we are really doing OpenGL just for legacy support, so it doesn't make sense for us to have two different backends for OGL 3.3 and 4.5. We will do Vulkan instead.
So Factorio is going to be Vulkan with both DX11 and OGL as backup?

Thank you for the mockups.
However I am not as happy as others seem to be with the outcome so far. For me it looks all over the place, riddled with inconsistencies and very "busy".

Two words: gettext Vulkan Except where OGL and DX11 cover 99% of the audience, Vulkan is restricted to newer hardware. I guess this excludes windows Vista users. (Only DX10 there) Does Vulkan even work in windows 7? Because that's what I'm using, Windows 7. Windows 7, yes. Hardware support can be s...

I'm not okay with an opt-out and would like to see an opt-in. Listen here. If I had to make that decision, I would not even allow the users to turn off such feature. (And I would only ever write about it in the EULA which no one reads even though everyone should. And shut my mouth about it so no-on...

Reposted for visibility. I went out of my way to completely gut Windows 10's ability to send any form of telemetry. (And in the process found out exactly how much Windows cares about permissions. Which is to say not at all. I replaced their shitty Cortana executable with a blank one because it was r...

I can see the team shoveling through all the incoming bug reports... maybe a more incremental update approach would have eased the rush a bit.
