Re: Pre 0.10.0 Factory
Did you try loading it with 0.11? If it works, you can then save it in 0.11 format, then load it in 0.12. Doesn't load in 0.11 nor does it load in 0.10. However it loads perfectly fine in 0.9.8, so I tried saving it again in that version and then opening it in 0.12 and now the game just crashes whe...

Pre 0.10.0 Factory
So recently I wanted to look trough my old factories and found out that I cannot load my 9.8 factory. Any ideas how to fix this?

Damn! I thought it would take a lot more than 125 combinators.

Re: Count to 1,000,000
408 is the 32nd untouchable number. An untouchable number is a positive integer that cannot be expressed as the sum of all the proper divisors of any positive integer (including the untouchable number itself).

Re: Tech Tree
To be technically correct (which is the best kind of correct, obviously :-) ) not all trees are directed, so your statement "Every tree is a DAG" is not true :-) Yeah, I misspoke. What I should have said is that every tree can be made into a DAG by just assigning some direction to each ed...

Compact boiler design
I was playing around on my new save file and discovered that you can put inserters between boilers, so you can have a long chain of boilers without having to mess around with running a line of coal to each of them. P.S. I am not sure if this is common knowledge or not, but I haven't seen anyone use ...

Re: Friday Facts #131 - Roadmap shuffle
Why don't you take the Minecraft route? What I mean by that is you should have some snapshots where only some of the features of the update are implemented. That we can enjoy the new features (the ones that are nearly finished) and also test them, while you are working on the rest. Of course these ...

Re: Poll: Should belts use energy (and Offshore Pumps etc...)
I think there should be something like an "Expert Mode" "Regular Mode" or "Beginners Mode" would be like Factorio is currently. With all the "space magic" going on, like belts moving on their own and offshore pumps not requiring some kind of fuel, etc.. "...

Re: HD textures
Time. None of the old models where created with enough detail to make any kind of HD texture pack possible before the steam engine and the car and would need to be completely re-worked to support higher resolutions. Maybe after the achievement icons are finished the graphics department could start ...

Re: Actual laser turret
Am I the only one who doesn't like how laser turrets throw homing red blobs at enemies? Maybe it should look more like this :D Yes, yes, it should look like your solid beam. And the range should be pretty far. The current laser turrets should be called plasma turrets then. Yep, exactly my opinion!

Re: Factorio for the iPad?
I didn't see anybody talking about this, so I am going to say it. In my opinion, even when ignoring the problems with the input, Factorio is still not good for a mobile game. It requires taking a bit of time to think about how you want to set up your factory, where to put things, also sometimes you ...

BTW, the achievement icons look amazing!

Re: Friday Facts #128 - Back down to earth
The belt balancing mini-game is overrated. It has almost no benefit compared to letting over-supplied belts fill up, and under-supplied factories shut down naturally. If you really want to play the belt balancing game, you quickly realize that it is a boring circuit optimization problem that has no...

Currently I have the second one (Furnace Attendant), I do think that the scenario pack should be available to everyone after the launch, but I was w...

Suggestions: ROUTES: allow players to configure "routes" for trains, ie route 1 goes to station A B C, route 2 goes to station A D E. Each with pre-configured wait times/conditions that are route specific. then adding a train to a group only requires selecting the route. also the route sh...

Re: Friday Facts #111 - Long term plans
I'm disappointed about the removal of the space platform plans, but I find it understandable. Still, for a lot less work, I would like to have sinks to keep the factories running. The saddest moment of a mod-free play through is when you finally finish all the research objectives, because pumping o...

I really really like the new technology icons. Was gonna point out that the logistics system one is wrong, bu I see that somebody else already did that.
