Re: Behemoth Biters?

The fastest (by far) way to up the evolution factor is not polution, its killing bitter nests. So if your bitter settings are relatively low to start with, you might have a hard time reaching the behemoths. Try clearing out a wide area around your base.

Re: Such Question Much Wow

The wiki is right, i screwed up reading the formulas (even though i was double checking myself too)... sulfur production is 5 times faster then what i was calculating (not sure why my math used 5 seconds for the sulfur recepie). So for battery production the perfect ratio is 25:2:5 for batteries:aci...

Re: Latest science factory (feedback requested)

Is one side of a belt really enough to feed all those circuit producers? its a blue belt, so i'm no sure, could be (i only ever build sicence factory with yellow belts). All in all i'd say looks nice, but very hard to judge when its backed up. empty all the belts, and then restart and run the lab fo...

Re: Friday Facts #92 - Personal roboport

Roboports on trains would be entirely useless. Even without the personal roboport, setting up a local roboport network is much faster then laying tracks. Whatever use case you could have it's either covered by setting up a local network or by being on a train with your personal roboport. Not true. ...

Re: strange grass, pls remove it, is there a mod for it?

I havent actualy modded anything yet, so i post this as a question for modders, not as an answer,
but could not the "empty" files be put into some mod folder that would tell the game to override the default files with empties (but leave the game completely updatable)?

Re: Friday Facts #92 - Personal roboport

Roboports on trains. Then I would need a way to limit the top speed of the train. Sure I can use lots of wagons, but It's an ugly fix. The conveyor has three speeds. Maybe we could have an electric locomotive with an included robotport Lots of stops along the line that is intended to carry the robo...

Re: A Detailed Look at a Bidirectional Three-way Train Intersection

THANKS! quickly showed me how i'd deadlock my planned junctions (i suspected that there were problems, but hoped i was smarter than everyone else who plays factorio). My first response to it's deadlock situation was "but that would require like 20 car long trains!!! but then i realized that it ...

Re: How to best transport stone?

For remote small patches you can always just mine them into a chest and go pick it up when they're depleted. Sometimes doing things manually takes less effort than automating them. This. if you have a lot of these patches, and you really want to mind away all of them, i would suggest a self buildin...

Re: Yet Another junction problem (signals).

to achieve what you want you would need to do this. mark off the paths that the trains (one from left to top, and one from right to bottom) would take. Now ANY piece of rail that is between their two paths has to have a signal on it (in the direction of travel of the rail). that means for example th...

Re: Water Supply Problem Steam Setup

Assuming that you have 10 steam engines going up each line, i see a few things wrong: 1. electric pumps after the offshores only make things worse. The electric pumps let through 1/3 of the water that an offshore pumps out. and you dont have 3 electrics for each offshore. get rid of the electrics an...

Fixing a Mainbus.... you didnt fix anything. all you did was give an early heavy user on your main bus an independant sourse of materials. your sollution works only when the belt going to this heavy user backs up. that will only happen if your alternate source (the nwe requester chest) provides more...

That is amazing. Think i'll download it and take a look at how everything works.. maybe on the weekend. So the belt trick does work! Good to have this confirmed. What belt trick? the one for the defence perimiter? or something to do with production? The defence thing i'd known about, and have been t...

I will make a suggesting, but i have to warn you taht i never got it to work myself. at edge of smelting area's orange logistic network coverage put requester chests requesting iron, then going out of that orange area, put inserters moving the iron to provider (or storage) chests in a disconnected l...

Re: Multitrainnetwork belt-based

I think that system is lock resistant because each path a train could take basicaly looks like this ------s------------s----------s-s-------s-------s------- with the s-s being the part where all the tracks cross. yes whenever a train is "in" the intersection it locks up 3 blocks, but as th...

Help me find my ideal game settings.

I want to set up a game that will have the following settings: resources: iron and copper Low frequency, high size or richness, or alternatively not very rich, but infinite (like oil is now) after running out. Coal, also low frequency, but not as rich or big, dont need as much. Stone, small poor pat...

Re: Are Electirc Furnaces an upgare (to steel)?

Trick question. All things considered, they are better. Modules are a huge thing. You can have two fast inserters inserting ores and taking away plates non-stop, no need for coal means more ore intake. They do take more space, but they can use it more efficently. The downside is that you really nee...

Are Electirc Furnaces an upgare (to steel)?

Just watched a lets play where the person spent over a whole episode (half hour) upgrading his furnaces from steel to electric. And i realized that i dont think its an upgrade, i think it may actualy be a downgrade. If you need smelting speed - not an upgrade, they're the same speed. if you need to ...
