Re: [HELP] Modular vs Expandable.
I've tried both ways too, and have settled on a horizontal copper/iron bus (at 2 lines each now, but thinking should be 3 or 4), splitting off from it make vertical lines that make a specific product. Green circuits are made and fed back towards the bus and go along it for a short distance to the &q...

Re: Science questions
3-3 (though blue assemblers) keeps up with 10 labs, so i imagine your setup could pull 20 labs.

Re: Final (Maxed) Designs
That's how a friend has shown it to me. ( just ignore the storage chest next to the belt) green circuits.JPG Add 1 more fast inserter for iron to each circuit assembly. i will bet that the choke point in this setup will be the inserters taking iron, if you add one more each, the choke point will be...

Re: Multitrainnetwork belt-based
I'm confused as to the purpose of the service stations. Do you load/unload fuel onto the trains there or something? or do they serve some other purpose. I dont quite understand what " to drive to the certain station without stopping other trains" means, but am very curious about various tr...

Re: Let's see your clever builds
Woody, please dont take this the wrong way, but that's not compact. Maybe dytech changes the requirements for science a lot, but i see: 1. blue circuit production? 2. one of the green sci assemblies has no inserters taking its beakers away. 3. cant tell how wire is getting to green circuits (fast lo...

Re: Optimal Train Load/Unload design?
If you dont want to get insane with chest-inserter-chest daisys, and dont want roboports (which in your case might not really be the best idea, if you really plan to have train after train coming in loading without a break during which the robots can recharge), but want a close to max load, you can ...

Re: Is there a train in the station? (and other train help)
I like the size of your timer and the fact that the condition to it can be set with a number instead of by belt length like I was thinking. I want to make sure I completely understand how it works, and I think I have an improvement or two. The Train trigger takes a piece of coal from the locomotive ...

Re: Is there a train in the station? (and other train help)
In the last couple days, got my rail road up finally. I'm happy with the ore outposts, they're simple, load all the ores into the trains (mixed) and sort (via robonetwork) at the unloading station in the main base. I know i'll run into problems if the smelting doesn't keep up with mining, and for no...

Re: Yet another science setup.
in that last screenshot of mine, the bottle neck turned out to be the inserter taking wires out for the redcircuits (talk about unexpected). rearranged the inserters on that side a bit, and this is the version without a belt down the middle, also if you move the polls in the middle a bit, you can ta...

Is there a train in the station? (and other train help)
I'm planning on starting on a real railroad binge (only did little ones so far), and looking for good ideas to use. Hoping that some wheels I wont have to invent. 1. anyone have a way of knowing (for the circuit network) that a train is in the station? need this to limit the smart inserters from tak...

Re: Oil train stations
separate cars for full/empty barrels seems like a waste of half the train size. unloading barrels by one from the train seems like the trains have to be at stops for ever, pipeline will be faster. So now that my next quest is a train system, I've been considering various loading unloading approaches...

Re: Yet another science setup.
Think i'm finished with it. Cant realy see anything else that bothers me. Well except that my iron supply has run dry, so gotta go deal with that and enough playing with the new science lab. http://i.imgur.com/1rop0kB.jpg Edit: managed to get that last vertical belt line out of the setup, the whole ...

Re: Yet another science setup.
Trying to figure out the math behind what the minimum requirements for the base supplies is for this set u: is one full yellow belt of iron enough for example to make 20 of each sci pack a minute? in total to produce one of each of sci pack you need: 31 iron (2 of that is for sulfuric acid, so 29 if...

Re: Yet another science setup.
edit: improved version two posts down, just leaving link here Moving the steel to the bottom was easy. I accidentaly built this thing close to an oil field, so decided to do the fluid handling there too (disconnected from main oil production for time being). Only cheating on coal for now (from a bo...

Re: Let's see your clever builds
Nexarius and MeduSalem, could you describe your smelters in more detail, the conditions on the smart inserters specifically, does your design actualy solve the problem of 1 stone sitting in a smelter waiting for the second stone that never comes (same with 4 iron plates that never smelt into steel)....

Re: Yet another science setup.
I love that setup. Enough so that I might drop my own and use this one instead. I don't have factorio running now, but I think there are a couple small imbalances. You claim it is set up for 1 science of every color every 1/3 of a second. and I like that speed. But I don't see how you think this set...
