Re: Radar
Good observation. Radar is only useful in the third level of the tutorial. It has no functionality on its own (just an entity with animation). The functionality in the third level of the tutorial is all provided by the Lua script. We basically wanted the player to motivate to generate a lot of elec...

Re: Smart Inserters/chests/logistic robots
Τhey are not useless, their main use is to patch mistakes you've made in the transport system,a little extra capacity here and there, without any transport belts.
So basically they would seem useless if you've made everything good and spacey already.

Re: Allowed to Research Without Ability to Make Science Pack
You can compress the folder (zip, rar or 7zip) and then it will be just one file.
But now that I read the problem again, can't you just press T and set another research?

Probably a good idea to upload your save file.

Re: Advanced Analytics and Factory Computers
I have a simple idea in that vein that could be easily included in the core game I think. Sensor: You can place this in front of a transport belt( like an inserter) and it counts how many items per minute pass in front of it. Optionally (but awesomely) it could even display a graph showing that over...

Re: Pollution !
Sounds like a great concept. Although I would prefer the option of researching Alien language and the further you progress the more you can interact with them. At first just getting basic stuff coming up when they attack you to eventually being able to trade with them if you aren't ruining the plan...

Re: Save/Load map generation config as String
Tbh I really don't see the point in sharing the config. If you could share the exact same map (seed) that would be useful, yes. I believe kovarex said he'd do that.

Re: Smart Inserters/chests/logistic robots
For the the logistics robot: You set the requester chest to accept for example 50 iron plates. The logistic robots will look for a provider chest with iron plates and begin going back and forth carrying the iron. I think they will use the storage chest if the provider chest is full.

Re: New hope, level 1
If you researched steel processing, you should be able to melt iron plates in furnaces to make steel bars. ;) Thanks. I will have another go for creeper spawners. :D Edit: I did better this time, but so did creepers. Man, I really need to improve steel production to beat this level. After 3h 40min ...

Re: Gears (and maybe other items) falling off the transport
Should I also mention that my own one sometimes bugged ? Not because some items fall down, but because where one side of a conveyor belt is "full", then it sometimes block (very often in fact ^^) the other side. Are you 100% sure that every item is on a different lane? I had this problem ...

All about Solar Power!
( brown colored = blah blah, safe to ignore) After unlocking pretty much every research in my massive coal-powered factory with about 50 furnaces, as I was driving around in my coal powered car, my headlights piercing the coal-generated smog, looking for coal fields , it occurred to me that maybe my...

Re: Mega Factory
Mega factory indeed! It's scary big. Questions 1) Was it built from scratch with the goal to have these colossal production rates or did you just expand on the original? 2) Do the faster c-belts really help? I suppose they do, but only if the yellow ones seem overcrowded even while in motion, am I c...

Blue science packs factory
The images are too big for the forum, if I made them smaller you wouldn't be able to see what's going on. Overview of the bluepacks-relevant part of the factory Zoomed in at the inserters factory so you can see what's going on. I'm quite proud of the one, even though I suspect it's highly unnecessar...

Re: Idea: C-belt lane blocker
The fundamental idea of the game is to force you to spend hours on tasks like that, and finally after awesome brainstorm, multiply attemps, fails and mistakes, you came with solution so ingenious, so smart, that you feel your self proud of your creation. This is what we were aiming for. I completel...

Re: Encouraging words
I have already spent more than 10 hours on this game. I get bored very easily, especially in sandbox games, so this says something. I can definitely say that the game is definitely worth it. The combat aspect is primitive, but the building? Wow, the building is the best I've ever seen. Few games can...

Idea: C-belt lane blocker
(C-belt = conveyor belt) The lane blocker would block items on the chosen side of the lane, allowing items on the other lane to pass through. Which lane is blocked would be switchable. To explain it better, here is my current setup. I am using a filter inserter to allow only coal to continue, still...

Where are the saves stored?
This is a bit silly but I can't find my save files.
I looked in Documents and Documents/MyGames which is where saves usually go. I looked in the game directory too, I can't find it there either.
I'm sure I forgot to look somewhere obvious.
