Re: [0.12.0][Mac OS Lion] Crash before loading screen

Post by Grimrig »

I've been having the same issue with 0.12.1. When I open the game I get the loading screen. It gets to "10% Loading Mods", then either says "Unexpected error occurred. You can help us to solve the problem by posting the contents of the log file on the Factorio forums." or crashes my computer.

I'm running Mac OS Version 10.9.5

This is a totally different issue. You see a loading screen, we didn't even get that far.

Your problem might see more love if you post it up in a new thread.

akisute wrote:No, it's not fixed but got worth. 0.12.0 worked without any problems on my iMac, OS X 10.10.4 (Yosemite). But now 0.12.1 crashes before loading screen without any trace of logs at all, like infinitehubgear said before. You must have done something that only works on legacy Macs...

Btw my iMac runs with system language set to Japanese so it might affect something.
Seems like the fix we made for 0.12.0 fixed the problem for you (having system language set to Japanese) but broke it (for unknown reasons) for other people without any non-standard system language or username.

Hey slpwnd,

I'm happy to test a debugging build if you'd like to try to find out more detail about why 0.12.0 failed on my system.

Aha! Now I see that's why I can't run 0.12.1 and 0.12.2. I think I might be able to help you a little bit because I'm a OS X/iOS developer myself, if you can tell me about what kind of fixes you did for 0.12.0 ;)

Or you can just make an another binary for non-standard system language users other than the current build if you wish to. I believe Steam supports conditional releases for different environments (for example x86/x86-64/arm for Windows or something like that) so this could be viable option...

@HanziQ, @KeepOnBuilding,

Looks like this problem is fixed in the latest version :D I'm afraid I'm too new to this forum to post a PM to inform you guys.
