[Twinsen][0.16.2] Lamps no longer stagger

In prior versions, lamps would turn off/on one at a time randomly. I thought this was nice.

In the latest version, all the lamps turn off at the same time. For one, this doesn't look as nice as it was before. And second, it highly resembles that of a brown out. Every time it turns day, I almost shit myself thinking I ran out of power.

Yeah I noticed it too, really takes away from the atmosphere of the game having them all turn on and off at once, makes the game feel less complete.

Was just going to post a report about this on my own. They also turn off while it is still pitch black night out and turn on much too late in the evening as well.

Edit: This is the case in Windows Multiplayer, Have not tested in single-player yet.

I have this on 16.4 too, singleplayer. To add to that, if this stays the same I'd like them to stay off shorter in the morning and stay on longer at night, but for that, I'll make a feature request when it comes to it.

I would also add they turn on too late, after the factory is already dark - and turn off too early.

Yes, all lamps turning on/off at the same time feels really weird now that we're used to progressive transitions...

Well next thing maniacs like me do is hooking up all lamps to combinator timers with slightly different on conditions to get back staggered lamp lighting. :lol:

I'd like to see the old behaviour back too. I really liked it, it was a nice pleasant detail.

I constantly have this issue with lamps too. Every dawn feels like power shortage. It is also hard to see shit in the middle of the factory during both dusk and dawn when lamps don't work. Can we have lamp timings configurable in the options?

agree. lamps now shut off too quick. Please add more time before shuting lamp off or add a option to change the timing.

I'd like to add my voice to this. The dark dawn and dusk periods are very frustrating. Lamps should be lit at these points.

I also really liked the flickering on and off of the lamps. It's a really nice touch.

+1 Lamps should turn on one by one as soon as brightness drops below 90%ish. The darkness is really straining on my eyes even (especially?) in a bright room.

I like to see an option that returns to the old, staggered on/off. It was really nice and provided plenty of light during the transitions. Now even in the middle of a factory there’s a good 30 seconds when it’s too dark to see twice a day.
