[0.11.3] Freeze on attempt to close assembler window (Mac)

I'm running Yosemite, so maybe that's the problem.
Every time I play now, after a random amount of time, the game hangs when I hit "escape" to close an assembling machine window. I can't seem to determine a pattern that leads up to this happening, I've tried lots of variations. But it always happens after a few minutes of play.
Not sure how to provide more helpful information.
Update: I think I found exactly when this happens. When hovering over the output of the assembler it shows that little dialog or tooltip that displays how many ingredients it requires, if I hit "escape" while the dialog is up, it hangs. It does make the "close assembler window" sound effect - and then it hangs. The window doesn't close (nor does the tooltip)
