After playing on a generated map for a while, I've found the frequency of resources - especially oil - to be a bit too low for my tastes. However, by now I've invested so much time into the map that it'd be a shame to start over.
Is there some way to increase the frequency of resource fields during the game, perhaps from the console? It doesn't have to modify the already-discovered part of the map, as long as it affects newly generated chunks.

I dont think so, not by normal means atleast.
Im sure you could create more oil field's but that wiuld be cheating in some eyes.
Sometimes you get worlds where oil is really unlucky. And some where oil is extremly plentiful.
I would honestly rather have 20 low wusntity oil fields than 5 large ones.

Go and find a new oil patch. Shouldn't take too much. Thats part of the fun, transporting the resources from where they are to where they need to be!
If the oil is a long way away, i'd suggest using a train and barrels to do it.
