Why not? Earth is big enough to handle 2 belts in it. Does it hinder anything that you are worried about that? Should time be spent on this instead of adding new buildings and features? No.

You can cross any number of entities or
other underground stuff (other underground belts or underground pipes). They wont be mixed or so. For the connection only the endpoints (entry-side and exit-side) are relevant.
Should I add a note about the lake stuff?

Just because it's in the wiki doesn't mean it's not a bug. (I still don't think it's a bug, if the lake thing isn't)

I'm sure, there are many bugs in the wiki, especially, what's written by me :), but what counts in the end is, if it is a useful behavior or not.
