You can't drag a paused map

You see revealed map areas while the game is paused, you're just not allowed to scroll.
You're not allowed to pan the map, or move it with your keys.
Only rip your mouse wheel in-and-out, all stiff and aching fingered till you can see what you're trying to see.

It's not great, honestly, as an experience to play while paused and made to awkwardly shuffle the around map.
If this is working like it's meant to work, if this is developer intention, then that's a shame: you choose to chew-up energy and burn through our attention, and for... well, what exactly? This can't be right; surely I'm mistaken?

I hope so, anyway.

But you can do things while paused: specifically, you can zoom into areas on the map.

So you can see different areas already, it’s some thing you can do, but only if you’re bothered to scrub and scrub the mouse wheel in-and-out, in-and-out till you can see the bit you want.

Wouldn’t it be better to do this with a pan?

Why allow people to do something, but only in an annoying, wasteful way?

Zooming in and out while paused was never a designed feature. If it happens to work; cool. If you want I could disable it while paused.

Just un-pause. There's no reason not to.
