Bought a gift to a friend yesterday, hoping we'd play some MP. Couldn't figure out what was wrong for 3 hours before I went to look here and see that the issue is not on my side... Oh well.

He loved the game though, which genuinely surprised me. He's not the one for games that require analytical thinking, wouldn't consider him to be all over technology. And yet he was super happy to get electricity working and science production up. I couldn't even get him to communicate with me. That was just magical.

I found out new way of playing by using scalar and bob mod with tree farm. That is just one good long game. Anyway i'm playing with friend but we need to balance it a bit more to provide challenge and long game, i'll post my results in general section probably.

Does anyone know of a way we can downgrade our save files from 0.11.15 to 0.11.14? I want to show off my base to my friends, but can't until 0.11.16

Download 0.11.14 from the website.

That's not just it Fishsandwich, saved files made in 0.11.15 can't be loaded in previous versions. I found out when I was still on 0.11.14 and someone sent me a saved file made in 0.11.15. Maybe by editing the save file, you can change the version number, but I'm not giving any guarantees.

I think I saw the devs post in a topic on how the save files are constructed(so also how you can edit it in text format) for someone to build a save and mod management application, but I can't find it...

I used wxHexEditor, it's free, portable and crossplatform.

- find the savegame
- IMPORTANT: make backup
- unzip the file
- open "level.dat" in the editor
- change the fifth byte from 0F (=15) to 0E (=14)
- save
- zip everything again (make sure the folder structure stays the same)
- cross fingers :)

It's not just "level.dat", but also "script.dat" which needs to be edited.

Aaah, okay, thanks :) Should have added the disclaimer I never had to downgrade so far

Thanks a million that worked great. I had saved a huge game in progress with .15 and could not finish it MP. I hope they fix that MP bug in .16 MP is so much fun
