Multiple Crashes while using steam version

Hello guys,
This is my first time running factorio on this new computer I got, and it seems it just will not work.
Some details on the crashes since it happened in several different ways

1. Crash wile loading, before showing main menu (clicking around it just makes it crash faster)
2. Crash on main menu while not on full screen
3. Changed to full screen, crashes sometimes on main menu, still unplayable
4. (Weird one) sometimes opening steam overlay I manage to get past the main menu and into the game, but given a few seconds the game hangs again (I got as far as getting a second furnace going)
5. downloaded zip from site, crashes while loading (44%, 60%). Tried executing as administrator, managed to play game normally, but crashed on exiting (also unable to close outside task manager)
6. Trying to load steam version as admin, no changes, still crashes on main menu


I tried a few changes to the config file to no avail, I closed whatever monitoring software that was open also to no avail

That's not a Factorio crash. That's something wrong with your computer causing the application to hang.

If Factorio crashed it would generate a crash log but there's nothing.

Try running this off a flash drive and see what it says: http://www.memtest.org/

The windows error report says the application hung (AppHang), that means it stopped processing Windows messages, so Windows killed it. Does it always end up like that? (Application window grays out, title bar contains "Not Responding", ...)

Does it keep crashing when you set launch options in Factorio properties in Steam to

If that doesn't help, can you try to turn off non-essential processes and try it again:
Warsaw (core.exe), nVidia Container (is that Docker?), G-Buster Browse Defense, Panda Antivirus, CCleaner, Tweaking.com, ... and whatever are those 46 and 48 icons in the task bar.

I take it you were able to run Factorio on some other computer, is that correct? If so, did you use same set of software running on background or was some of it preinstalled on the new computer?

- That there is something other than Factorio causing the issue is likely, but hard to detect. Let me update some info here:
-- For the standalone 14.14 downloaded from the site, if I open it normally, it will hang on any action I take; If I run as administrator, I can play just fine, no other issues.

- I tried cleaning all the tasks that I could to run factorio solo, and also set up opengl, no dice. I used to play on my old computer that broke down. The only thing that is the same are the HDDs (formatted)

This tread can be closed, whatever was in version 0.14.15 fixed my issue.
