[1.1.107] Crash when resuming game from main menu

Prior to the game start up i had to click on "disable mods" several times as it kept showing failures around loading sprites.
Now i'm getting intermittent game crashes. There is no particular activity in game that seems to cause the crash - i could be just resuming the game. or click on the belt. Doesn't appear to be a reproducible error.
Would appreciate if i could get some help to troubleshoot this. I've uninstalled/reinstalled the game from steam without much luck.
