seeing as 0.12 is so close, I decided to start a new series. So, I grabbed Colonel Will and together, we started to build a base that is eventually going to break 0.11.

A little bit of info. We're using RSO plus a few other mods. Trains are going to be... expansive shall we say. We also have rail tanker, barrel mod & FARL. These are probably the only mods we'll play with. I reserve the right to add more at a later date if I want though!

The plan is basically this:
  • Break the game in 0.11 for multiplayer
    Break the game in 0.11 for single player (this may be longer/shorter depending on how long 0.12 is in the making)
    0.12 release
    Break the game in 0.12 for multiplayer
    Break the game in 0.12 for single player
Hope that you come and join me for the ride. It'll be a load of fun and I guarantee you'll learn something. I'll be dropping one episode per day until I break the game.

So, the series is starting to get into gear. We're up to episode 4 and the fun is really going to start soon.

Time for some green circuits!
This build is termed the "mk2" by Colonel Will. Apparently it isn't the highest capacity design, but a stepping stone towards it. It should carry us through the game a fair way.

6. Science To Scale

So far, the base has been sizeable... So its time to build the science setup to a suitable scale. This should deal with research quite handily.

7. New Power Plant

As is typical with any early game, we have the first lot of power issues. Our first power plant's capacity has been exceed and its time for expansion.

8. Beginning Trains

Trains are going to be extremely important in this game. We push hard early and begin the preparations for trains. The train system is going to be awesome and will represent the best way to build trains in the factorio game.

I've missed a few days due to being a bit sick. Apologies for that. But without further ado, here are the latest couple of episodes.

12. Mining Outpost 1

Oh yes, its time for some Iron and our first working train route.

13. Spaghetti

Yeah. Title says it all really.

14. Sidings

If you've ever wondered how to do train properly, now is the time to start watching. We put in the first (of many) sidings and continue to work on the design. There are some clear rules we are working from and they begin to really take shape from this episode onwards.

16. Automated Rail Laying

Oh yeah. The F.A.R.L. My new #1 favourite piece of rail laying equipment. Because the scale of the rail network is going to be so large, this is going to be extremely handy!

17. Oil Outpost 1

Time to get our first Oil Outpost up and running. We'll be using the rail tanker mod to cart the oil from the outpost back to the base proper.
