Sorry if it sounded too harsh or serious, I meant nothing of the sort.

Keep up the good show!

No worries. :) We get some comments from people that expect it to be like any other normal playthrough, and take it all seriously, they don't understand that because we go in blind not knowing why anything is anywhere, it's difficult for us to make judgement calls. Sometimes I feel that if they didn't take it so serious, they would enjoy the videos more.

Hahahaha indeed the series is SO MESSY. If I were you, I'd losen up the rigorosity on the rules. Allow people to break/modify stuff, just don't allow full reworking. You can think of:
- Obsolete stuff
- Changing belts to improve performance
- Rework small parts of the builds

Things that are not allowed:
- Build stuff beyond other stuff just to make things obsolete (if it has a reason to build it's fine)
- Destroy full setups

As a spectator I see that you all are too worried about not changing the builds. You should bee less restrictive to that so you can enjoy more.

As we get farther in the build, I'm sure there will be times where we will have to move stuff. We are pretty solid about not being able to move other people's building. Creates interesting workarounds. Glad that you are enjoying the series.

@FishSandwich: Also I think that fixing science belts is a minor change. You should have done it.

If it's not done by the time I play again, I plan on doing that. I didn't realize my mistakes until I watched everyone else's videos. LOL
I panicked a little bit during my episode, lol.

Yeah, got some time since 10.4 is bugged so i gave it a try and watched all 5 episodes so far. Combining 5 Players of different skill levels and 5 different styles.... yeah, it's fun to watch. And even the "better" players struggle quite a bit. The way the Infectium managed to bring all research to a halt for 45mins... Infectium, if you read this, you deserve a medal! :D

I'm thinking of one word descriptions for every episode....overbuilder for Fish, paranoid for Infectium, confused for sonori, perfecter for Alex and gettinitdone for Negative?

Anyway, fun to watch, will put some time aside to view the next few episodes in a couple of days.
When I watched everyone else's videos, I was crying from laughter. I just assumed they would make green potions like I was.

YaY! I got a medal bytches. WOOT!!

But it's fun. I can't wait to see what you will break in next episode
Ya, the 20 minutes really caught up with me fast. I was just trying to get something done in the end, lol.

I know what you did last episode

Post by _aD »

Dear Hydra Players,

We, the people, know who made the barrel. We saw its creation and witnessed attempts to hide it from view. When the moment ripens we will tell all. Until that time, live in fear.

Hugs and kisses,

Your Ever-Loyal Viewers.

If you want to hide a barrel, throw it in the woods. f.e. behind the trees, which successfully hide the last unwalled part between the water :P

Glad you all are enjoying the series! :D I'm so sad,I had the belt system for science set up perfectly for all 4 types, and they ruined ittt!! :(
My episode will be up later today or tonight. And let me warn you all, I was somehow less productive in this video than I was in the first. :D so if you get annoyed by that kind of stuff, just prepare yourself. Hehe

This is shaping up to be more fun then i've anticipated. With only 20 mins per episode the confusion and carried over actions/mistakes seem to increase, instead of decreasing over time... :D

Keep it up, i'm expecting the next 2 episodes within the hour! xD

Factorio Quiz:

1. A blue inserter performs 2.4 operations per second and a steel furnace takes 17.5 seconds to take 5 iron plates and produce 1 steel bar
a. how many blue inserters do you need to remove the steel bar from the furnace to maximize production? [answer = 0.024]
b. Are their more operations feeding the iron plates into the furnace or removing the steel bars?

2. An assembler producing copper cable takes in 1 copper plate and produces 2 copper cables. Which of the following is true?
a. The player should feed the copper cable assembler with a faster blue inserter and remove the cables with a slower yellow inserter.
b. The player should feed the copper cable assembler with a slower yellow inserter and remove the cables with a faster blue inserter.
c. This is a trick! A good player will anticipate the development of the inserter stacking bonus and not waste a blue inserter when transferring from building to building.

3. How do you get oil into a barrel?

4. How fast does an empty turret eliminate a small biter if you have the first level of bullet damage and speed upgrades?
