Info:
  • HardCrafting is dedicated at making the resource processing more complex, which requires you to build more clever setups. This gives you however also the advantage of refining more plates out of the ores than before.

Well, that's a kinda awesome mod !

I am using it on a multiplayer game atm, and we are having a great fun with it. We just cancelled the changes on the robots, but played a lot with the part about iron & copper. It's very difficult to set a good plate factory !

May some of you share your solution for it ? I'm working on mine, but without great results for now !

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your feedback. Can I ask you why you didn't like the robot changes? Was it specifically the fact that I omited the liquid crafting part? :)

Also what would you think about more hardCrafting parts? I was also thinking about changing the Stone mining sites (You get enough stone anyway with the other recipes) and Coal.
Then one more feature I was thinking of is to make all other recipes for machines (furnaces, assembling machines, inserters) harder by adding input like machine-, structural-parts and adding output like "old-metals" "unused metal parts" etc. :P Will probably make an update soon (when finished with the update for Packager mod.)
Until then I will of course take all feedback into account.

Lost track of this for a bit. Let me start by saying I have not tried this yet. This is, first and foremost, a mod of the refinement and smelting process. The robotics part just seemed tacked on and off topic. It's hard to find interesting smelting mods that do only what they do and don't try to throw in some other stuff because reasons.

That's why I'm not a fan of the robot recipe changes, and what put me off experimenting with this mod.

and I was wondering how well this stacks with Bob's Mods? Is it compatible?

I'm not asking if it has extra functionality, only if it works as intended with Bob's Mods.

@Lurkily: Yes you are totally right, I will take this one out since it really doesn't belong into the mod :)
/Edit: The robot recipe changes are now disabled in 0.2.5 by default. See also description on how to easily remove individual features of the mod

@diongham: I just tested shortly and it works. Please post any updates or difficulties you experience if there arise any, I will make sure that I can support you. ;)

This mod runs currently on the modded server from daniel34, see this post if you want to check it out on multiplayer. It runs together with bobs mods & marathon, so the map should be quite challenging.

@Roy: thanks I will look out for typos and fix them.

We're using it on the public USA server as well. Bobathon + HardCrafting + No hand crafting (whatever mod does that) = pain.

We have a LOT of dirt... we don't want to use it on the ground since it slows us down... what can we do with it?

Yes.. found one. I wish it'd create power instead of taking power though.. lol. Well, if there's no other use for it... But it'll be a toss-up between powering the incinerator and building more and more warehouses.

@Kosto_Prav: Wow cool. Thank you very much for the contribution! I added the locale to the new version 0.2.7.

@tetryon: The Inscinerator is an option, but you are right, quite expensive. I will rebalance this soon. One option which helps a lot is the fact that if you use landfill you can create landfill 2x2 items out of dirt. These can then also be burned in the inscinerator (which saves a lot of processing time then of course). That's more like a workaround, I might need to balance this somehow.

@V453000: Ups seems like I was going to fast with that 0.2.6 hotfix for marathon. When marathon is not available the vanilla recipe doesn't contain the key result_count. I just fixed this for 0.2.7. Hope this one works better for everyone :)
