Version 0.2.9

We just released the version 0.2.9.

Features:
  • Added splitter, it can be used to split items coming on belt in 1:1 ratio.
  • Autosave interval is now configurable in Options->Other (values are 1 to 100 minutes or never)
  • Textual inputs now work with home + end keys.
Changes:
  • Moved enemy spawner parameters spawningRadius and spawningSpacing into the json files
  • Alphabetical sorting of all file/directory lists (save/load game/scenario etc).
  • Removed obsolete creeper-rocket.
Graphics:
  • New graphics for electrics pole with rotation depending on connection + wires shadows.
Bugfixes:
  • Fixed the error of randomly connecting/disconnecting of the pole to be built.
  • Added 0 to the allowed characters (only 1 - 9 was allowed).
  • Fixed the missing distance check for connection of circuit network cables.
  • Fixed periodic slowdowns when creeper attacks were spawned.
  • When save/scenario saving (from the save as menu) fails, error message is shown and player can try to resolve it (the application will not close).
  • Update the size of the entity info window when the contents change.
  • Fixed the missing translation tag in the item filter window.
  • Fixed bug with attacking with a pick on a large distance
Graphics:
  • Update of the tile graphics (mainly stone tiles are upgraded)
Scripting:
  • Fixed chest info not updating when inserted items using script.
  • Added indestructable/not operatable/not rotatable/active property accesible to the scripting.
  • Added Lua force object
  • Added function getentitycount into the force object, used this to fix minor bug in level-02 where count of mining drills/furnaces was done manually.
  • In Lua setmulticommand now returns number of units sent
  • Moved functions getrecipes and gettechnologies from the LuaEntity to LuaForce.
Modding:
  • Recipe categories (Both crafting and furnace recipes merged into one list, recipes are categorised now)
  • Current recipe categories are "crafting" + "smelting", it is now possible to add new recipe categories in the prototype-definitions/recipe-category folder.
  • Player/Assembling machine/Furnace prototype contains list of recipe categories they can use, this should make it easier to make specialised machines.
Translations:
  • Added partial polish translation (Missing demo campaign)
  • Completed French translation (fixes and tips and tricks)
  • Fixes in German translation
Downloadable on http://www.factorio.com as usual.

I was using it in my mod :(
Also, I wasnt able to upload the spanish trannslation again yesterday :(
But the modding changes are awzum :D

Fantastic, thank you. Are you shooting for a build release each week?

What's the status concerning the paypal account. Did they already respond? How long are they going to keep it locked?

This sucks big time. And here I was hoping the campaign and developement could continue as smoothly as it did last week. Hopefully those horror stories will not proof to be true for you.

I'm super pissed about Paypal freezing your guys account. I was one of the first people to try out Factorio, I remember when the campaign was at like 400€ on Indiegogo and not many people believed it could make it. And now when the game has finally surpassed everyone's expectations, it has reached its goal in an incredible manner, and now these ****ing morons at Paypal freeze the account. Unbelievable.

Keep calling Paypal, make sure they are reviewing your account. This account freezing happened with the Project Zomboid guys as well. And I remember that devs for Project Zomboid got their account unfrozen by selling old crappy games they made, and including an alpha key for Project Zomboid within the game sales. Reason its frozen is due to paypals idiotic 1990's thought process that if you sell something that doesn't "exist" or can't be "delivered", then your account will get frozen. This is completely misguided, because this is the digital age, and not all "goods" people sell nowadays are something you get physically. Hope those idiots unfreeze your guys account, and fast. I'll personally go on a rampage if you guys don't get any of the Indiegogo money. You have my full support.

I seem to recall PayPal doing the same thing to Notch way back in the early days before there was Mojang and he was still selling Minecraft Alpha (which would be around the time I joined that community). I had honestly thought they'd be less idiotic after having it happen again and again with multiple indie projects, but apparently I'd expected too much.

Regardless of what happens, I'm sure I speak for all the contributors here that, if something goes wrong and the transactions get reversed, we'll just toss the money at you in another way.

Was there any paypal case where backers wrote to paypal that they are real?
If not, it might be worth trying.

I am sending an email to paypal to let them know they won't get any further business from me unless they resolve this issue quickly. factorio is not a fraud. i got more than my money's worth from the alpha.

I backed Factorio on IndieGoGo (http://www.indiegogo.com/factorio) and am very distressed to hear that you have suspended their account.

Suspending a paypal account in the middle of a funding drive is disastrous to a small company like theirs.

I am writing to assure you that no fraud has taken place, at least for my account. As a backer, I got early access to their game and have been extremely happy with it.

Please contact the Factorio team immediately (factorio@factorio.com) to resolve this issue, or I will not make use of paypal in the future.

Hmm is it normal that my saves were gone? Like they're still there but I can't load them

well, wasn'T that far in so just redid the first mission, was still lots of fun xD

Interesting that they took the money from my account already. If they won't give it to you now, once they refund me, I can just do it once you find a new way.

For some reason when I go to the download page, it still links me to the 0.2.8 version?

Or is that actually the file for 0.2.9?

Anyone else have this problem?

Edit: 0.2.9 is further down on the page. :P
