Re: Friday Facts #411 - All about asteroids

I guess this is the best you could achieve without going full 3D. Still, I would lie if I say that I like this more than, say, "Ξ”v rings of saturn", which conveys a very strong feeling of "real space", while still being quite ascetic in its graphics.

Re: Friday Facts #402 - Lightspeed circuits

Do I still qualify as a nerd if I never watched "spaceballs"?

Re: Friday Facts #399 - Trash to Treasure

So, the alien civilization mined the planet dry and left? Seems far-fetched, to be honest. Aliens had to get the resources to build all their stuff from somewhere, and now, somehow, these resources are nowhere to be found? And also, aliens use the very same intermediate products as you do? Aren't al...

Now you should add some version of the calculator, like Helmod, or the online one, which shows the resource flow diagram (which is very helpful).

Re: Friday Facts #393 - Putting things on top of other things

The graphics for ore looks strange. Ore is already a "stack of rocks", so "a stack of stacks of rocks" looks silly.

Let's hope you are right, and that it is an unintentional oversight of some sort.
Let's also hope the official statement is made soon. There is a real shitstorm gathering in the steam discussion right now.

Re: Another kind of splitter (not smart)

Ok, I stand corrected. It IS possible.

Still, it looks more like a bug abuse than a legit way of doing this.

This is only true for the line merging, line splitting is impossible to make.

Another kind of splitter (not smart)

No, it's not a smart splitter request, it's a dumb splitter request :) So, the belt can carry two lines of goods, but there is no easy way to combine them, and also no way at all to split them. So how about this (see attach 1): the splitter that splits two lines of the input belt into two separate o...

Re: Oil Expansion

Somehow I thought that "oil expansion" deals more with the use of oil, not of the refinery and production. I think that oil as a resource is terribly underrepresented in the production chains. There is petroleum gas, which is useful for plastics and sulfur and... that's pretty much it. The...

Remotes for the circuit network

After about 40 hours in factorio I found one think that I miss the most, and that is not covered on this forum (at least I didn't find it). The remotes. So we have constant combinators (silly name BTW, what exactly do they combine?) which is great to quickly turn parts of your factory on/off. But I ...
