Oooh turning off arty is going to be great! Wall construction will be so much easier. Is there a way to turn off artillery trains as well, by chance?
Is there finally nuclear artillery!?!
So many questions, so little answers.

Re: Friday Facts #409 - Diminishing beacons
I like the proposal a lot, sounds like fun. Could have a gui similar to the usual wifi frequency analyzer tools. Open a topic in suggestions, perhaps someone will start off with a mod.

Re: Friday Facts #409 - Diminishing beacons
Please include rate/ratio calculator inbuilt .. do not want to go to windows calculator or excel sheet every time and come back to the game ... :D :D I am wondering, if that not already happened. THey talk about ratio calculations, and I can somehow not imagine them having a secret fork of factorio...

Very nice, I was expecting exactly that.
The diminishing returns approach is the sweet spot between SE and 1.0.
Really hyped to have more variation.

Re: Techtonica makes me depressed. Factorio could be real 3D
Highly depents on the sprites. I remember the old days, the sprites would not be nice to revisit :D. Old nintendo games also look like shit, if you remove the nostalgia goggles. Also highly depends on the 3d graphics age, imo. Games from around 2010 onwards, which are designed well, still look good...

You can do strawmans all day, I don't care. You both are literal years on my ignore list. My post was targeted towards the general forum audience, so that there is no appearance of a consesus of "old forum members". If you bothered reading, you'd also have seen, that I agree on "simpl...

Re: Fluid Mechanics Still Broken, 6 Years Later?
I don't get why you continue repeating what you say infinitely. It's not that people are too dumb to understand what you say.
Your argument could also be applied to splitters - why have them work by clear and logical rules, when you can simply always have a full belt and balance consumption?

Since wsl 1 got ditched, I doubt that any advances in that direction will be made in wsl 2.

Re: [1.1.107] Blueprint library cloud sync gets deleted on fresh factorio install
There is a way to recover the blueprints from a savefile, saved me once in a similar situation, can't remember how exactly, but was also some form of cloud sync issue.

Re: Friday Facts #408 - Statistics improvements, Linux adventures
Factorios non-blocking saving is the only redeeming feature of running linux as a desktop system :D But in all seriousness, hopefully the ball gets rolling, and with combined effort of valve, and enthusiasts like you, raiguard, supported by companies like wube, there will be an enjoyable non-"E...

Don't you think that while you could certainly still call it whatever you like, even factorio, that it would be a completely different game?
The expansion was always going to be an expansion, not a different game.
I am not opposed to it, mind you, just sayin

Re: Techtonica makes me depressed. Factorio could be real 3D
All 3d factory builders in the end never took off in a satisfying way. At best, DSP with the 2.5 stacking of buildings and conveyor layers. Even Gregtech is now more or less dead. I would certainly try out a 3d factorio, but I don't think it would be anywhere as fun as the current 2.5d. Techtonica l...

Re: Friday Facts #406 - Space Age Music
It sounds too epic and not similar to the original Factorio soundtrack for me. It reminds me more of star wars. The original factorio soundtrack just doesn't sound like an orchestra. It also fits better into the background. Just listen to it again. I am also a bit worried, that it is too intensive ...

Re: Friday Facts #406 - Space Age Music
Man, what I thought of, and I hope Kovarex did as well, is how rad it would be to have a remaster of the original theme.
That would be such a cool homage or easter egg
For those who did not hear it at the time, you can find it here:

Re: Friday Facts #406 - Space Age Music
Damn, that's amazing! I was hoping for more music, and this certainly overshoots my hopes by a large margin. I do still think, that the first soundtrack, and the current ambient masterpiece still have a right to stand on their own, but I am curious, if the current ambient will not feel like too litt...

I have no idea about colorspaces and whatnot, but having a lamp signal with 3x8bits for color would be pretty rad, I think.
