Re: [0.9] Liquid recipes are shown in player crafting
This was made like this because a lot of new players couldn't find out how to make steel or stone blocks, so these recipes were added to the crafting menu with an indication what machine is needed to make them.

What to do with light oil?
So I just built my first oil setup, but besides the solid fuel recipe, is there any other use for light oil? Is there a possible use to directly insert it into a boiler or maybe even make it into a product? Right now it's accumulating into a couple of storage tanks, because all refining of oil will ...

[0.9.0]double text for items in inventory
Took me surprisingly long to notice everything is double when I hover over an item in my inventory or hotbar:

Haha, it's not the worst bug there is. But it's a bug that's easily avoidable and needs to be fixed if you want to reach to a wider audience.

[0.9.0]Crash when trying to load without a saved game folder
So, I tried to load a saved game, not thinking about how I didn't have a save folder yet in the new version. And got a gamecrash:

I get excited every time I see a new post in one of the boards of the top category, hoping it's the good news.

Re: The other way to make games
Wow, I had no idea there was a market like this! I can see this causing trouble for the future, when people will consider not making an app because it probably will get stolen, reskinned and resold. It's just really scummy making money selling work other people did.

Re: Best suggestion ever
I think releasing now will only introduce known bugs to the player base, causing the devs to have to spend time on acknowledging bugs they already knew about instead of fixing things and balancing the system. In the end, releasing next friday will probably net a better release than releasing before ...

Re: How to cheating in the game
I've used test mode to spawn some items to kickstart my factory before. Because I couldn't bother with the first half hour of manual mining, again (I do think you spawn with a burner miner now, that's an improvement). And I used it to disable the day/night cycle because it was annoying me that I pra...

I'm really looking forward to next friday. Can't wait to get my hands on oil and blueprints
However, isn't this supposed to be Friday Facts #20? Last week's Friday facts was also number 19.

None of your images seem to work. Are they in the public folder of dropbox? I would recommend rehosting them on imgur.com anyway.

Re: Factorio on Win8
I voted "does not concern me", because Factorio works on my laptop with win8 and since last week, 8.1. In terms of games, I think there's no difference to windows 7 in wether it would work. There are of course some known performance differences for some games(both positive and negative). B...

I'm now really looking forward to 0.9, considering my savegame was also starting to run slower and slower.

Re: Not sure if bug or a rookie mistake
I think this is by design. You don't lose any inserters, the amount of items in your inventory stays the same. The only thing that changes is the direction and/or the type of inserter. I think it's a nice feature. This way, I can fix the direction if I made a mistake very quickly, or upgrade my inse...

Re: "Black box" factories from blueprints
I assume by a black box, you mean "single building for whole chain in the blueprint"? Then I'd say no. Space is a valuable resource in this game, and optimizing designs yourself is part of the gameplay. I think the blueprints are there to help with repetitive building of structures, but sh...

Re: 3 bit adder
My factorio logic is a bit rusty/non-existent. Can you explain how it works? Also, which of the in- and outputs are the least and most significant bit? I assume most to least significant are still left to right? Cool work! I was thinking of doing some logic stuff myself, but I feel a bit intimidated...

[0.8.8] Game slowdown
I know how you're always looking for big savegames to see if there's possible optimizations to be made in the game. Not sure if this is the right board for this. Mine isn't as bad/big/awesome as this one , but my framerate is now between 30 and 37FPS. I tried if running in 30fps mode helps, but that...
