Re: Friday Facts #186 - Marathon testing
I am sad and sometimes disgusted to read such things from the community, so angry people. This is a gigantic pressure you put into the devs guys. More you expect, more you might be desapointed. Their is nothing else than hate on this path. And that's how you destroy the sanity of a dozen of people w...

And I am pretty sure 0.14 doesn't cover everything... Can I find the full changelog (not about bugs) somewhere?xng wrote:I have a feeling 0.15 will have the longest changelog in computer game history.

https://us1.factorio.com/assets/img/blog/fff-183-map-gen-presets.png This is exactly what was missing in Factorio. Anything else is adding more content, vanilla+ or make your life easier. But this gameplay mode/settings choice was definitely the last bit missing . To me your game is now complete , ...

Re: Best method for buying Factorio?
Factorio.com is the best spot to be sure of your deal. In a previous news, devs said there were quite some fake website and stolen money. Deal directly with them, on their website. Steam is very good as well of course.

Re: Friday Facts #182 - Optimizations, always more optimizations
I am very impressed how seriously and deeply you take this game. It's not a bunch of collision boxes, destroying and rebuilding everything at each game tick. This is a gigantic big algorythm, smooth calculation, and elegant coding. You are true pro: don't hide the bugs, overwrited by a code patch, b...

Everyone should pay the game. It's equality. I am piano tuner, and I never tune a piano for free. I practice years without being paid, I bought tools, and I had to work for another job while getting just decent. Devs too, everyone does. I paid the product his full price, and don't care about discoun...

Re: Friday Facts #173 - Nuclear stuff is almost done
Some parts of the planned stuff like cooling towers and closed water cycle were dropped. I'm kinda disappointed to see the closed water loop being dropped, was very much looking forward to using that with the old boiler/steam engine setup. Those I still find a pain in the ass to setup since the wat...

Re: Discussion about expensive infrastructure
I only play in Marathon, and the burning age already is few hours of gameplay before you reach a decent electric mining and little green circuit production. It is incredibly time consuming and slow, and you will make green circuits factory bigger than your classic factory. This is 135 hours of gamep...

Here's another test example. I reduced the greyscale to %80, and made the biters stand out a bit more: Normal Vision_2.png Night Vision_2.png It works really well with some of the other mechanics, like rail signal color, fire, headlights, and so on. Not all the images I edited turned out very good ...

Re: Friday Facts #167 - Reactors Operational
Wait. A nuclear reactor can connect to only 6 boilers? Ok maybe heat pipes around and then more boilers... Is it REALLY more efficient than 10k of solar panel that cost no GPU ? Nuclear power is for GIGANTIC factory, and should worth a tons of solar panel. It should be ridiculously small, stupidly e...

Re: Friday Facts #160 - Playtesting
If I may, I would like to repost my opinion on something quite important to me, and would allow tons of replayability in vanilla ! TL;DR: adding more settings right at the starting menu. I am playing Factorio since 2 years always with Marathon, and sometimes RSO mods. Those make the game very intere...

Re: Friday facts #153 - 0.13 Stable, 0.14 Experimental
I am playing Factorio since 2 years always with Marathon, and sometimes RSO mods. Those make the game very interesting, factory gigantics, well thought rail network essential, the coal/stone age more important and gun turrets impossible to be skipped. Each tier of the game you created, programmed, b...
