When I played the game, I entirely skipped the Circuit Network (unlocks smart chest recipie) research because I knew I couldn't use the wires, but when I got to the logistic system related researches (Construction Robots (passive providers and storage), Logistic Robots (passive providers) and Logistic System (active providers and requester chests)) I couldn't make the various chests because they required smart chests (Which I hadn't researched).
I think Circuit Network should be a prerequisite to Robotics (Robots need complicated circuitry!) so people don't run into this problem with skipping Circuit Network.

What could you possibly want to use logistic robots for if you don't have any provider and requester chests?
