Copy, Paste to ingame console

Post by DeadHippie »

So, my question is How do you paste from Windows clipboard to in game?I mean literally what keys on my keyboard do I use?I've tried almost every combo I can think of and can't get text to paste to the console line.
Any help is appreciated.Thank you.

Thank you so much, It works great! Surprisingly there is nowhere out there that tells you about these keyboard shortcuts. It's not ingame, Reddit, or the forums, until now.
Again, thank you.

That's because ctrl+v is a standard in windows and linux, and cmd+v for OSX I think. It's assumed to be common knowledge. Try it anywhere else and in 99,9% of cases it will work, I assure you :)
Ignore this

default windows shortcuts, that everyone should know:

CTRL + C = Copy
CTRL + X = Cut
CTRL + V = Paste
CTRL + A = Select All
CTRL + Z = Revert last Input
CTRL + Shift + Z = Revert last Revert last Input

(on german keyboards, replace CTRL with STRG
on Macs, replace CTRL with CMD)

There is a whole log of console history in the player-data.json

But sadly not the return from the console. This seems to much attention for this issue, but i just want to copy the error and analize it inside a text editor instead of switching back and to factorio and typing it or reading it there... i had a start-setting set in steam-factorio that created a commandlinewindow with some logging when starting factorio, propably way too much, but i can't seem to find this anymore, the setting...

- so how i do test my ideas is writing commands - whole blocks and then just copy it to the console and see if it works etc... and it would just be very handy to be able to have the return written somewhere. i guess searching through the forums will lead me to something, but i havent encouraged enough motivation yet...

but thx for the reply - i should start looking for these log files :D
greetings
